Third Conjecture debate discusses trustee liability

Professional Pensions has held its third Conjecture debate to discuss trustee liability.

The web based conferencing club’s seminar – chaired by Professional Pensions editor Len Roberts and including Pitmans Trustees director Andrew Gaspar, Ashurst partner Steven Hull and ACE European Group pensions specialist Emma Watkins – looked at the key issues surrounding trustee liability.

The debate asked if trustees fully understood the risks they faced; whether The Pension Regulator’s requirement for trustees to have greater knowledge and understanding was a double-edged sword; whether trustees should brace themselves for member-led litigation; and if it is really necessary for each trustee to acquire the same level of knowledge on all subjects.
