THE Environment Agency has gone out to tender for a third-party administration provider for its two local government pension schemes.
The government body said it wanted an administrator to provide fully integrated, innovative, and cost-effective outsourced pension fund administration services for its schemes – which have a total of 12,000 active, 10,000 deferred and 22,000 pensioner members.
It said the services required include responding to pension fund membership enquiries, maintenance of all pension funds membership records; providing fund membership communications; developing and maintaining its pension fund website; provision of LGPS; along with wider pensions technical advice and consultancy services.
It said the provider would also be required to collect fund contributions; provide management and financial services; provide secretariat services for client meetings and pension committee trustee meetings; and deliver other fund administration services.
The contract will come into force on October 1 2009 following a six-month handover period – and will be for a five-year term.
The deadline for tenders is July 14.
