EUROPE/UK - Northern Trust Global Investments Europe (NTGIE) has appointed Stephen Watson as portfolio manager to its active international equities team in London.
Watson specialises in European equities and will be responsible for research and stock selection in several key sectors across NTGIE’s European and international portfolios.
He joins the firm from the National Bank of Greece International in London where he was head of equity research from 1999. Prior to that he was a senior European equities fund manager at Framlington Investment Management.
Commenting on the appointment, Barry Sagraves, chief executive of NTGIE, said: “(Stephen’s) appointment is part of our ongoing enhancement of our active equity capabilities.
“Stephen’s experience will be especially valuable to us in navigating current markets where stock selection is of paramount importance.”
NTGIE currently manages some US$8.5bn in assets from London.
