MGM Assurance, specialist in life, investment and pension products has scooped up top awards at Standard & Poor's funds investment performance awards 2001.
MGM investment director Gregor Logan said that performance in 2000 hinged on the timing in the Technologies Media and Telecommunication sectors.
He added: “Until mid-March it paid to be overweight in technology stocks, however their ensuing collapse and the corresponding recovery in defence stock came as a shock to many oin the investment industry.”
At the ceremony, held in London’s Four Seasons Hotel, MGM scooped first place for one year and five year insurance funds survey, one year UK individual pension survey, UK marketed funds, one year UK insurance fund stockmarket managed sector and ten year UK insurance fund money market.
