AUSTRIA - Richard Weberberger, previously managing director of Multi-ImmoEast Asset Management GmbH, has joined Henderson Global Investors as head of the property team, based in Vienna.
At his previous firm, Weberberger covered property investments in Poland, Czech Republic, Hungary, Slovakia, Rumania, Bulgaria, Croatia, Estonia, Latvia, Ukraine and Russia.
Tim Horrocks, director of property portfolio management (Europe) explained that Vienna had emerged as the pre-eminent hub for real estate investments in the Central and Eastern Europe (CEE) region.
“It is our intention to use Vienna as a gateway for future business in CEE,” he added.Henderson operates assets worth e300m in Austria and has been established there since 2002 under a joint venture with Austrian insurer Wiener Städtische.
