BENELUX - BlackRock Merrill Lynch Investment Managers (BlackRock MLIM) has appointed Mark Schipper as marketing manager for the Benelux region.
Schipper, who will be based in the Netherlands, will work alongside marketing manager Misa Deurloo and will manage the marketing of BlackRock MLIM products for both the institutional and retail markets.
Prior to the appointment at Merrill Lynch, Schipper held several marketing and sales positions with Nationale Nederlanden, ING Group and Robeco.
Merrill Lynch agreed to sell its investment management arm Merrill Lynch Investment Managers (MLIM) to BlackRock for US$1.1bn in February of this year.
Following the deal, Merrill Lynch retained a 49.8% stake and 45% voting interest in the new independent company, which has over $1trn in assets under management.
