UK - Almeida Capital, the private equity research and advisory firm, has appointed Chris Davison as head of research.
Almeida produces country overviews, sector analysis and market surveys for institutional investors, private equity firms and service providers. The research complements Almeida's online information service, which operates under the AltAssets brand and is managed by Vicky Meek.
Davison joins from Bridge News, the information service, where he managed a team of 30 researchers and journalists across Europe. He was responsible for coverage of all European economics and financial news and for co-ordinating the company's global financial news output.
Davison was also chairman of the management team that developed the company's online global events information product.
Prior to Bridge, Davison was at Knight Ridder, the information serviceprovider, where he managed the team responsible for all UK political and economic news and set up the company's first bureau in Dublin.
