UK - Simon Surtees and Alok Basu are to join Gartmore's Credit Research team.
They will report to Karl Bergqwist, head of credit research.
Surtees has held senior positions within the credit sector for over 10 years, having worked in several credit functions for NatWest Markets, ING Barings, HSBC Investment Bank and BNP. He joins the company from Bear Sterns International where he was managing director of the fixed income credit research division.
Basu has gained over 7 years sell side experience as a fixed income strategist and credit analyst, and joins from Barclays Capital where he was employed as a fixed income credit strategist. Prior to this, he held a number of credit strategy and analyst positions at Merrill Lynch and HSBC.
