US - ABN AMRO Asset Management has appointed Thomas Leavitt president and CEO of its North American operations, effective immediately.
Leavitt joins from Standard & Poors where he was global head of client service and sales and a member of the executive committee.
In his new role, Chicago-based Leavitt will concentrate on developing the firm's institutional business and will report directly to Frank Goasguen, global head of institutional sales.
Prior to his time at Standard & Poors, Leavitt gained 20 years of sales, marketing and management experience at firms including Alliance Capital, United Asset Management, Fidelity Investments and Citigroup Asset Management.
