UK - The Liberal Democrats have attacked the government over claims that it is "turning every stone" to find a solution to the pensions crisis.
The party’s work and pensions spokesman Steve Webb hit out after comments made by the leader of the House of Commons, Peter Hain, during a visit to the site of a former Allied Steel and Wire steel plant.
Webb said: “There is no need to look under stones for solutions to the pension crisis when the answers are staring the government in the face.”
Jonathan Stapleton asks whether newly-accredited professional trustees should be a statutory fixture on pension scheme boards.
Savers are being warned by the Insolvency Service to guard their pension pots from investment scammers and negligent trustees as it winds up 24 companies.
Respondents say they should only be required in certain situations as the system is not broken.
