US - Financial services giant Goldman Sachs Group has elected Morris Chang to its board of directors.
Chang is the founding chairman of Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company and is set to join the Goldman board on December 1, 2001. TSMC pioneered the development of the dedicated silicon chip foundry and today it is the largest dedicated silicon chip foundry in the world.
Henry Paulson, chairman and chief executive officer of New York-headquartered Goldman Sachs, said that Chang’s election recognised his “global business vision, and his role as a technological innovator.”
