Ceres, a US network of investors and environmental organisations has appointed California State Teachers' Retirement System (CalSTRS) CEO Jack Ehnes to its board of directors.
Ehnes will serve a three-year term on a 24-member board that includes members from mutual funds, consulting firms, unions, universities, foundations, churches and pension funds that collectively manage US$5trn in assets.
UK - Hermes appoints associate director
Hermes has appointed Daniel Temple as associate director to manage its new market research function.
Hermes said Temple would analyse macro and micro asset management trends to inform Hermes' product development and marketing.
He was previously investment communications manager with Morley Fund Management and senior investment writer and mutual funds analyst at The Capital Group Companies.
UK - SSgA expands active equity team
State Street Global Advisors (SSgA) has made two appointments to its UK and European active equity team.
Toby Warburton joins as senior portfolio manager and Fabio Agostini joins as portfolio manager. Based in London, both Warburton and Agostini will report to Mark Webster, managing director and head of SSgA's European active equity team.
Warburton joins SSgA from Barclays Global Investors where he spent 11 years working in the quantitative active equities group, while Agostini joins SSgA from AXA Rosenberg where he spent two years as a pan-European equity portfolio manager.
GLOBAL - Oxford Management awarded CarbonNeutral certification
Fund manager Oxford Management has been awarded a company certification by CarbonNeutral, a carbon offset and climate consulting business.
