UK - Specialist asset manager Cairn Capital has appointed Stephan Michel, formerly co-head of European credit research at Barclays Capital, to head up its credit research team.
In addition, the firm has hired Deniz Akgul, who joins fromm Houlihan Lokey, as a credit analyst on the team.
Robert Pierce Jones, director of Cairn, said: “Stephan and Deniz bring experience and a valuable specialist skillset to our platform.”
Michel had been at Barclays since 2001. Prior to that, he was a partner and senior portfolio manager at Green T, focussing on high yield credits.
Akgul’s experience includes distressed debt, financial restructurings and mergers and acquisitions.
