UK - Consultancy firm ORTEC has confirmed moves to strengthen its presence in the UK, with the appointment of Andrew Slater as managing director of the UK office.
Slater, a former analyst with scheme-insurance specialists Brighton Rock Group and ex- director of institutional strategy with SEI Investments, said he hoped the expansion would allow the company to build on its reputation in the Dutch market place.
He said while the company had an office in the UK, it had remained less well known than some of its competitors outside of the Netherlands.
Slater said: "We're going to continue to provide pension schemes and institutional investors with advice in investment consulting."
He added the company would continue its close association with fellow Dutch consultancy firm Cardano.
The move is the latest expansion by other Dutch pension specialists into the UK market. In early October, Mn Services appointed Remco van Eeuwijk as managing director of its UK office, concentrating on growing its fiduciary management business (Globalpensions.com; 8 October 2008).
