UK - An election is to take place for the NAPF's investment council after nine people were nominated for the five available positions.
The election is taking place after Stagecoach chairman of trustees Derek Scott, Coal Pension Trustees Services chief executive David Morgan, Greater Manchester Pension Fund head of pensions Peter Morris, Frank Russell consultant Ken Ayers and Morgan Stanley head of European Pensions group Alan Rubenstein came to the end of their four-year term of office.
Morgan and Rubenstein will not be standing for re-election.
NAPF acting director general Jenny Rosser said: “Serving on the NAPF benefits or investments council gives pension professionals the opportunity to bring their knowledge and experience to bear in influencing policy and practice in the pensions industry.
“The NAPF is grateful for the hard work of those council members who are standing down and on their behalf I would like to thank them for their efforts.”
The other candidates are USS chief executive David Chynoweth, Aegon Asset Management director Mike Craston, Consignia Pension Plan director Gerry Degaute, HSBC consultant John Finch, Merrill Lynch Investment Managers director Robert Hayes and Jagger and Associates director Simon Jagger.
The ballot is expected to take place shortly before the May annual general meeting.
• Rexam’s Terry Faulkner, Railways Pensions Trustees’ Michael Goy and BBC’s Rhoslyn Roberts have all positions on the benefits council after the number of candidates matched the amount of vacancies.
