US - Financial services giant The Goldman Sachs Group has invited 146 people to become managing directors.
The appointments are effective from December 1, 2001 - the start of the firm's fiscal year.
Commenting on the hires Henry Paulson, Goldman’s chairman and chief executive officer, said the directors “represent a broad cross-section of the businesses and markets in which we compete.”
