NETHERLANDS/UK - Legal & General Investment Management (LGIM) has been appointed by Gouden Gids, the pension fund of the Dutch Telephone Directory company, to run an equity index mandate.
H Arnoldus, chairman of the pension board of Gouden Gids, said “As a result of the uncertainties of the market over the last few years, and the increasing requirements and regulations of the Pensions and Insurance supervisory authority of the Netherlands (PVK), the pension board has decided to spread the risk of the fund in a different way. This, of course, is in the interest of the members and to ensure future pension liabilities can be met.”
Tim Breedon, group director investments said, “Over the last few years we have established ourselves as a major player in the UK Institutional market, firstly with our Index Funds and more recently with our active bond funds. We are now looking to make our expertise available to a wider European audience and we are naturally delighted to be given this opportunity to run a passive equity fund for Gouden Gids.”
