EUROPE - Mercer Human Resource Consulting has acquired the Norwegian-based pensions consultancy firm Benefit Network.
Mercer takes over Benefit Network’s consulting, brokerage, administration and communication business in Norway and Sweden for an undisclosed sum.
Edouard Merette, Mercer executive vice-president responsible for European operations, said Mercer was “responding to the new business environment in the Nordic region, with its rapid change from commission-based to fee-based financial relationships with clients.”
In the pension and employee benefits arenas, our ability to help our clients address complex retirement and benefits plan design, financing and funding issues, and requirements under international accounting standards will be outstanding in a region of growing importance for a global consulting firm like Mercer, he added.
