NETHERLANDS - Fortis Prime Fund Solutions, a service provider to hedge funds and fund of funds, is expanding its European presence through a new Swiss subsidiary in Geneva.
Fortis Prime Fund Solutions (Suisse) Sarl will offer administration, custody and financing to alternative asset managers. The firm also plans to open a Frankfurt office “in the near future”.
Fortis PFS currently offers services through offshore locations in the Cayman Islands, Curacao, Hong Kong, Ireland and the Isle of Man. The firm also has offices in Amsterdam, London, Luxembourg, Milan, New York and Tokyo.
Eric F. Jacobson has been appointed managing director of the Swiss subsidiary, with the aim of further developing the firm’s market position in alternative investments.
Jacobson has previously worked for DG Bank Frankfurt, Commonwealth Bank Australia, Bloomberg and Market Axess Europe.
Sicco Plesman has transferred from PFS Amsterdam as senior business development manager. During the past four years, Plesman helped establish the Amsterdam office and was involved in business development in Europe.
