HONG KONG - Northern Trust has named Thomas Benzmiller as managing director of the Northern Trust Company of Hong Kong.
In his new role, Benzmiller will direct Northern Trust’s strategic development and day-to-day business operations in Hong Kong and lead the effort to enhance the firm’s asset management presence in Asia.
Previously, Benzmiller was director, corporate markets at Northern Trust Global Investments (NTGI) in Chicago.
Benzmiller will report to Lawrence Au, general manager in Singapore for the Asia-Pacific region at Northern Trust and Barry Sargraves, CEO of NTGI (Europe) in London.
“We continue to actively expand the suite of solutions Northern Trust offers to institutional investors including a wide range of investment-related products,” said Au.
“We are pleased to utilise Tom’s experience in investments and as a plan sponsor to develop a closer link between asset servicing and asset management services to deliver solutions that bring high added value to the institutional investor in Asia.”
AMP Capital has set up a dedicated team to help institutional investors, including pension funds, invest in infrastructure through direct equity allocations.
