UK - Veritas Asset Management has hired former Newton Investment Management investment director Ezra Sun to launch two Asian equity funds.
Sun will run the Real Return Asian Fund - a long-short “best ideas” hedge fund - and the Veritas Asian Fund - a long-only fund.
Sun will be joined by Jaewon Bae, who comes from HSBC as Asian analyst and assistant fund manager.
Both funds will be registered in Dublin and are being targeted at schemes and other institutional investors.
