UK - Employees will only use online capabilities if the sponsoring employer has an education programme in place.
Friends Provident head of pensions marketing Jeremy Ward said the main problem companies faced when installing an online system for its DC arrangements was getting employees to use it.
He said: “You can do all sorts of things, but members won’t do it without education.”
But Invesco Pensions chief executive David Butcher said the greatest take-up had been at schemes where there was an online joining function.
