UK - Winterthur Life has signed a £400,000 deal with technology firm Focus Solutions to provide transaction functions to its IFA portal, Extranet.
The three-year deal will see Extranet modified, which will enable IFAs to access product quotations and transact business electronically.
Winterthur said the development was a “key step” in its e-commerce strategy, and it intended to extend its e-trading capability further next year to include other IFA portals.
Winterthur will be able to reuse components and applications of the Focus software in other distribution channels in the future.
Winterthur Life IT service delivery manager Jon Wheeler said: “Focus will enable us to rapidly enhance our Extranet capability to provide quotations and new business applications.
“We will be able to launch new products on to the market quickly and efficiently.”
The first products to be launched on the enhanced Extranet site will be investment bonds and personal pensions.
