NETHERLANDS - Chairman of the PGGM executive board, Dick de Beus, is to step down in April 2004.
De Beus has been chairman at PGGM - the pension fund for the health and welfare sector - since 1988 and has spent a total of 25 years as a board member.
“De Beus’ commitment to the organisation and the way in which he has carried his chairmanship during this lengthy period are highly appreciated by the Governors,” said chairman of the board of governors, Hans Alders.
De Beus, who will continue to act as a consultant for PGGM, said: “I took this decision for myself years ago.
“Twenty-five years is a good length of time. And by announcing it at this stage I am making it possible for the Governors to find a successor in good time.”
