US - Standard Life Investments' has appointed Dan Cahill as managing director, private equity, North America, as part of its regional expansion plans.
Cahill will be based in Boston and will be responsible for formulating and managing the firms US private equity investment strategy.
Previously, he served as principal global institutional investment manager at State Street Global Advisers’ fund of funds division, Wilton Asset Management.
Jonny Maxwell, chief executive officer at Standard Life Investments, private equity, said: [Cahill] will be responsible for investing US$200m of Standard Life Investments' funds in the US market.”
He added: Many investors have withdrawn from the market whilst they review asset allocations; this gives us an opportunity to re-enter the market which we believe has been over funded in recent years.
