EUROPE - Patrick Burke has been elected director of the European Federation for Retirement Provision, taking over from Nora Finn.
Burke is head of investment development at Irish Life Investment Managers and vice chairman of the Irish Association of Pension Funds (IAPF).
Jaap Maassen, director of pensions and ABP board member was reelected as EFRP chairman while Angel Martinez-Aldama of Inverco and Peter Lindblad of FPG-AMFK Pensionsgaranti were each reelected vice chairman of the organisation.
The decisions were taken at the EFRP general assembly held on 27 October in Paris.
Upon his reelection Maassen said: "I am honoured EFRP wants me to continue as chairman. I am proud of what we have achieved over the last two years. Many strategic challenges lie ahead, but I am sure the EFRP will once again show that it can deliver solutions to difficult questions.”
Departing director Finn commented: "I have always been deeply impressed by the work of the EFRP and will continue to closely follow and support the EFRP”.
