US - September 2002 was the worst month since October 1987 for US pension funds as assets underperformed liabilities by -11.83%, according to financial laboratory Ryan Labs.
This caused a growth rate differential of -36.46%. Combining the last two years now has pension assets falling behind liabilities by -73.40%.
