UK - Scottish Life has promoted Jim Smith to the role of sales director. Smith replaces Jim Gilchrist who is set to retire on July 1 and will report directly to Scottish Life chief executive Brian Duffin.
Duffin said: “Smith has the sort of broad and varied experience in sales management, marketing and e-commerce, which makes him the ideal person to take over from Gilchrist.”
Prior to joining Scottish Life, Smith was head of remote distribution at NPI, having previously been assistant executive director for IFA sales at Abbey Life.
Gilchrist joined Scottish Life as Glasgow branch manager in 1968 and has held overall responsibility for the Scottish Life sales division since January 1988.
