EUROPE - The cross-border life insurance and employee benefits consultancy team of Luxembourg-based JBI Associates has joined Deloitte & Touche.
Operating under a newly formed structure - JBI Deloitte - the team will form the nucleus for expansion by the firm into servicing Europe’s growing cross-border life and pension fund industry.
Announcing the new venture, Maurice Lam, managing partner of Deloitte & Touche Luxembourg, stated that the move was designed to build on the firm’s existing resources and follows in the footsteps of the transfer last year of leading actuarial firm Bacon & Woodrow’s international insurance consulting practice to Deloitte & Touche in the UK – a grouping with which JBI had already worked closely.
James Ball, JBI founding principal, will be heading the new company, which intends to combine Deloitte & Touche Luxembourg’s expertise with JBI’s specialist skills.
