NETHERLANDS - ABN AMRO has received the go ahead from the Dutch central bank (DNB) to separate out its asset management business to join with Fortis.
Jean Paul Votron, CEO, Fortis, commented: "This is a major step forward and a key milestone in the integration process of the ABN AMRO activities that will join us."
Fortis and ABM AMRO said they expected the demerger to complete at the end of Q1, subject to consultation with the Works Council.
