UK - State Street Global Advisors group chief investment officer Alan Brown has taken over as co-head of the firm following the death of chairman Timothy Harbert.
Harbert - who was SSGA chairman and chief executive officer - died in his sleep after suffering a sudden heart attack.
In the interim, Brown and chief operating officer Peter Leahy have been appointed as interim co-heads of SSGA.
Brown and Leahy will report directly to Ron Logue, chairman and chief executive officer of SSGA’s parent company, State Street Corporation.
Logue said: “Tim’s passion and energy were a driving force in the success of State Street Global Advisors. We have lost a friend and colleague. Our thoughts and prayers are with Tim’s family.”
