US - Global healthcare investment specialist MPM Capital has hired three new recruits to its investment team.
Joining MPM Capital's BioVentures venture capital team are Carl Weissman as venture partner, and Kazumi Shiosaki as entrepreneur in residence. Skip Klein will also serve as a venture partner with both the MPM BioVentures and BioEquities products.
Weissman will work as both an MPM investment professional and as the founding chief operating officer for the MPM portfolio company Centagenetix. Shiosaki joins from Millennium Pharmaceuticals where she was senior vice president of drug discovery. Klein, who holds experience as a public market healthcare investor, will focus on late stage private and public market venture capital opportunities.
The team will be based at the firm’s Massachusetts headquarters.
