ITALY - Mellon Global Investments has bagged a E397m (US$437m) by the Sanpaolo IMI Group pension fund.
Mellon has been selected to manage seven passive mandates tracking a number of US and European indices. Mellon Bond Associates will manage the bond mandates, while Mellon Equity Associates will be responsible for the US equity portfolios.
Marco Palacino, deputy general manager of Mellon Global Investments, Milan, said that the win highlighted Mellon’s “growing success” int he region.
“The appointment of Mellon Global Investments again underlines the breadth and depth of asset management solutions across all asset classes that we offer clients internationally, he said.
The Turin-based Sanpaolo IMI Group pension fund is a multi-fund structure with four different investment profiles. It has more than 20,000 members with approximately E1bn in assets.
