US - The US$13.3bn State Universities Retirement System (SURS) of Illinois board of trustees has appointed Dan Slack as its new executive director.
Slack has been acting as interim SURS executive director since James Hacking’s departure in August 2005. Slack has also served the role of Associate Executive Director and General Counsel for SURS.
Slack is also a member of the board of directors for the National Association of Public Pension Attorneys, and a member of the executive committee for the Council of Institutional Investors.
SURS is one of the 100 largest pension plans in the US, with over 180 000 members throughout the world.
