US - Dimensional Fund Advisors has revealed plans to launch two retirement share classes (R share classes) for use in defined contribution (DC) plans.
R shares pay a fee to parties who provide services to plans and their participants. Dimensional’s R1 and R2 share classes will provide 10 basis point and 25 basis point fees, respectively.
These fees will be used to pay for shareholder services such as recordkeeping.
Patrick Carter, vice president and head of DC services, at Dimensional Fund Advisors, said the company employed a research-driven investment process when designing its investment strategies.
Dimensional Fund Advisors has more than US$150bn in assets under management, including over $8bn in DC assets across more than 600 plans.
