The Fund Managers' Association (FMA) in the UK has appointed Lindsay Tomlinson as its new chairman. Tomlinson is chief executive of Barclays Global Investors Europe.
Tomlinson said that, “I am delighted to accept the position of chairman and I am looking forward to working with the members of the FMA in representing the best interests of UK based fund managers.”
Tomlinson joined Barclays Global Investors in 1987 and has been responsible for their European business for over 10 years. His company is one of the largest in its sector, with over £500 billion assets under management.
Prior to this appointment Tomlinson has been chairman of the Actuaries Investment Committee and is currently chairman of the FTSE Equities Indices Steering Committee. He is also a member of the UK takeover panel.
