SWITZERLAND - F&C Asset Management is to open a representative office in Geneva by the end of the year, giving the firm physical presence in seven European countries.
Christian Zeitler will join F&C in October as country head for Switzerland and Austria. In his new capacity he will report to Patrick Johns, head of institutional business.
Zeitler joins from Morgan Stanley Investment Management where he was vice president for German, Austrian and Swiss institutional clients from 2004. Prior to this he worked for Insight/Rothschild Asset Management and Commerzbank Investment Management.
Commenting on the move into Switzerland Johns said: "Switzerland is the third largest world market for hedge funds and the third largest pension fund market in Europe after the UK and The Netherlands."
