UK - A pension scheme has switched 40% of its assets into hedge funds, Mercer Investment Consulting has revealed.
Most schemes which invest in the asset class have allocations of less than 5%.
But Mercer’s senior investment consultant and hedge fund specialist, Robert Howie, said the unnamed scheme was a “very special case”.
The scheme is valued at less than £50m with a large sponsoring employer.
