UK - Schroders has appointed BlackRock's ex-head of UK and European business to lead its entire UK property fund portfolio.
Ian Mason, was expected to join Schroders in spring 2008, he has previously chaired the Association of Property Unit Trusts and been involved in various National Association of Pension Funds (NAPF) committees during his 22 year career in property fund management.
Earlier in 2007, Schroders Property acquired Aareal Asset Management and expanded its presence with six new continental European offices.
In his new position Mason would assume responsibility for all UK property fund business, reporting to Neil Turner, head of global property fund management.
