SWEDEN - Merrill Lynch Investment Managers is set to lose out as AP3 gets ready to move into US equity at the end of Q1.
MLIM holds around Skr19bn in US passive equity. But commitment to active US stocks is likely to be drawn from this portfolio, although no firm decision has been reached on the value of any potential mandates.
Sweden’s third national pension fund is still deciding as to whether the new mandates will be for US small caps, mid caps, or a combination of the two. But the move is certain, with a final decision now aimed for the end of March.
Additionally, the fund has not hired an adviser to the move, although in the past AP3 has used Watson Wyatt.
