NORDIC – Northern Trust strengthens Nordic team
Northern Trust has made appointments across its asset servicing and asset management businesses in the Nordic region. Neill McVity and Jane Porter join as senior relationship managers, while Joanie Stringer has been appointed as Nordic sales manager, all within the firm’s asset servicing group. In addition, Jeremy Biggs has joined as senior relationship manager covering the Nordic and Dutch markets for Northern Trust’s asset servicing group.
UK – Henderson adds to SRI team
Henderson Global Investors has appointed Seb Beloe to its sustainable and responsible investment (SRI) business as head of SRI research. Part of a seven-strong team, Beloe will lead on the identification and analysis of critical sustainability and responsibility issues with investment relevance for the SRI funds. In addition, he will guide and oversee the research team's communication and engagement with companies, the investment community, government and civil society to enhance and promote understanding of sustainability, corporate responsibility and SRI matters.
INDIA – Cordea Savills and Nichani Group in joint venture
International property fund manager Cordea Savills has launched a real estate fund management business, with Nichani Group. The joint venture will launch the Cordea Nichani Indian Opportunities No.1 fund, offering investors access to land and development opportunities in high growth regions of India. The fund will target net returns of 25% per annum.
UK – Barrie and Hibbert head appointed
Financial risk consultants Barry and Hibbert have appointed David Macmillan as chief executive. Macmillan, who was previously UK retail director at Standard Life Group, has experience in strategy development, marketing, distribution and general management.
UK – Mercer establishes South West presence
Mercer has opened an investment consulting business in Bristol, to cater for both existing and new business in the South West region. The new team of eight, headed up by George Fowler, principal at Mercer, makes it one of the largest investment consulting teams in the South West.
