US - Farley Beaton has been appointed as the new CTO of the US$45bn Virginia Retirement System (VRS).
In this position, Beaton would help the agency modernise its information technology systems and employ technology solutions to serve the system’s 543 000 members and retirees.
Beaton joins from the Virginia Department of Taxation where he worked in a variety of positions over the last 25 years.
Most recently, he served as the executive commissioner and CIO, where he managed a major business process reengineering and technology modernisation project and served on the agency’s executive team.
