UK - Multi-manager Investment Solutions has been appointed by shipping company F T Everard & Sons to manage the £6.5m active portfolio of its £11m closed defined benefit (DB) pension scheme.
Investment Solutions said a proportion of the scheme would be invested in the new Investment Solutions Property fund, launched in October this year.
Commenting on the appointment, William Everard of F T Everard said: “The benefits of multi-manager were particularly attractive to the scheme.
“Investment Solutions researches a wide universe of fund managers selecting those best able to generate superior investment performance. We are confident that this will provide the returns required for us to meet the liabilities of our scheme at significantly lower risk.”
Investment Solutions senior investment manager, Richard Dinham, said the firm’s range of funds offered the potential for “lower risk out-performance”.
“The range of our funds have the flexibility to meet the evolving needs of the scheme as it matures,” he added.
