UK/IRELAND - Swiss group Zurich Financial Services has appointed Lawrence Churchill as chief executive of its UK, Irish and international life units.
Churchill joins from disability insurance company Unum Provident where he was chairman and managing director of its UK division.
He has also been managing director of NatWest Life and Investments, as well as a member of the board of directors of Allied Dunbar. He has also served on the boards of the Personal Investment Authority, the PIA Ombudsman Council and The Association of British Insurers.
Churchill will now report to Sandy Leitch, member of the group executive committee and chief executive of the UK, Ireland, Southern Africa and Asia/Pacific divisions.
Commenting on the appointment, Leitch said: Zurich is very well placed in the UK Life market, with a powerful multichannel distribution strategy and a clear commitment to face-to-face advice.
“I know Lawrence will provide the strong leadership required to take full advantage of the excellent opportunities, both in the UK and in the Irish and International markets.
