The Flintshire County Council Clwyd Pension Fund has appointed Baring Asset Management and Fidelity Pensions Management for two specialists briefs.
BAM was reinstated by the Mold-based fund for the £20m Pacific Rim and emerging markets mandate following a review of the entire £550m fund last year. The Pacific Rim brief is to outperform the FTSE World Pacific (ex Japan) by 1.5%. The emerging markets brief is to outperform the MSCI Emerging Markets Free Index by 1.5%.
Fidelity was chosen for the £20m Japanese mandate, previously held by BAM. The brief is to outperform the Japanese Topix Index by 2% per annum.
The mandates are over a three year rolling period.
