US - Barclays Global Investors has hired Mark Talbot, former head of international bonds at State Street Global Advisors, as senior US fixed income product strategist.
Talbot will be relocate from London to San Francisco and will begin in September. He will report to Partha Dasgupta, BGI’s head of fixed income product strategy.
BGI recently added to its active fixed income team with the appointments of Peter Knez, formerly with Lincoln Capital Management, as head of US fixed income research, and Stephen Kim, previously with Dresdner RCM Global Investors, as a US strategic account manager.
“Mark Talbot will play a key role in designing fixed income solutions for our US clients,” said John Bowers, managing director and head of global fixed income for BGI.
“His wealth of experience in the investment process, in product development and in understanding client needs will be an important asset to BGI.”
