London-based Avebury Asset Management has appointed Michael Smith as a vice president and portfolio manager.
Smith worked as international fixed income director at SAMBA Capital Management International for four years where he specialised in managing global bond portfolios for Middle Eastern institutional investors. Prior to that he had succeeded Michael Daley, Avebury’s founder, as head of fixed income at Morgan Stanley Asset Management in London.
Smith’s arrival follows the appointment of Stephanie McClennon as vice president and portfolio manager in March.
*Avebury is a specialist fixed income and currency overlay house for European and other institutional investors. In particular, Avebury manages global bond portfolios for ERISA (Employers Retirement Income Securities Act) and public fund clients in the US.
