The EU Commission's Competition Authority has approved the planned takeover of Norwegian insurer Størebrand by Finnish financial services group Sampo.
In its decision the Commission added that it will closely monitor the merger so that the Norwegian authorities comply with the merger control regulations of the EEA agreement.
The takeover is expected to be finalised by the year end.
