UK-based investment house New Star has appointed Toby Thompson as a fund manager.
Thompson joins Alan Miller and Richard Pease and will be responsible for the New Star higher income fund, expected to be launched later this year. He joins from Newton Investment Management, where he managed the Newton higher income fund since 1996 and also managed the RBS Income Fund. Previously he was a UK analyst at Eagle Star Investment Management which he joined in February 1992.
His start date is yet to be decided.
*New Star recently launched two new funds, the UK growth fund and European growth fund. The offer period closes on July 20, 2001.
