EUROPE - SEI Investments has appointed Stephan Römer as head of institutional business development for Germany, Austria and Switzerland.
Römer will be responsible for supporting and developing SEI’s alliance with Commerzbank in Germany. This alliance provides Commerzbank’s clients with access to the SEI manager-of-managers solution. He will also be responsible for building SEI’s business in Austria and Switzerland.
Römer will report to Patrick Disney, European head of institutional business development and will be based in SEI’s German office in Munich.
Before joining SEI, Stephan worked as an advisor for European pension plans. Prior to that, he was a marketing director and product specialist for European equities and convertibles at WestAM based in Düsseldorf.
Commenting on the appointment, Disney, said: “Stephan’s appointment represents the next stage in our expansion into Europe. His knowledge of the European investment industry and first-hand experience of client-side issues, make him ideally placed to support SEI’s development in the region.
“We feel it is the right time for SEI to focus on this region as more institutional investors realise the benefits of manager-of-managers. We look forward to welcoming Stephan on board.”
